- Select appropriate cases and develop effective treatment plans.
- Master various impression techniques for different prosthodontic applications.
- Fabricate and adjust complete dentures, removable partial dentures (RPDs), and implant-supported prostheses.
- Execute crown preparations for anterior, premolar, and posterior teeth using different materials.
- Implement advanced techniques in smile design and temporization.
Course Curriculum
Module 1: Fundamentals of Prosthodontics
- Case selection and diagnosis
- Treatment planning and patient communication
- Overview of treatment modalities
Module 2: Removable Prosthodontics
- Types of RPDs: Acrylic, cast partial, and flexible
- Impression Techniques:
- Dual impression technique for distal extension
- Implant impression techniques using:
- Alginate
- Rubber base
- Impression compound
- ZOE paste
- Complete Dentures:
- Conventional, overdentures, and implant-supported dentures
- BPS and relining/re-basing techniques
Module 3: Fixed Prosthodontics
- Crown preparation for various materials:
- Metal, PFM, all-ceramic, and zirconia
- Impression Making & Bite Registration
- Shade selection and cementation techniques
- Post and core preparation (metal/fiber)
Module 4: Advanced Techniques
- Full mouth rehabilitation protocols
- Transferring facebow records and gingival retraction
- Fibrodontics: Preparing immediate FPD without crown preparation
- Laminates/Veneers (Indirect) and fabrication of temporary crowns (chairside and lab)
- Techniques for removing old crowns/bridges using:
- Crown remover
- Vamkee
- Cutting techniques
- Precision attachments
Hands-On Training
Participants will receive hands-on training in:
- Crown preparation on anterior, premolar, and posterior teeth
- Preparation for veneers and laminates
- Dual impression techniques for distal extension case
- General idea about implant and its protocol
- Impression technique for implant supported prosthesis
- Precision attachment ( semi fixed option for those who dont want implant )
- Post and core
- Complete denture and rpd
- How to make temporary crown and bridge.
- Implant supported overdenture.
- Demonstrations of advanced materials and equipment
Clinical practice involving a minimum of:
- 10 crown preparations
- 1 complete denture and several RPDs
- Proper recording of impressions (alginate, rubber base)
- Gingival retraction techniques
- Post/core preparation and adjustments of dentures, crowns, and bridges during delivery and final cementation
Clinical Practice
Under the guidance of experienced instructors, candidates will:
- Work on patients for the procedures learned in theory and hands-on training, depending on clinical posting duration and availability of cases.
- Develop confidence in applying their skills in a real-world setting, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
